Description:
The coal trains typically come out of Wyoming in a 2x1 set up, two units up front, one behind. KCS will add a pair of diesels at KC or Pittsburg for the trip south. Most of the time, theyre a pair of KCS units. Lately, though, its more often been a 2x3 set of BNSF power, as we see here.

The 262 met this empty TXUX train at Watts. We caught him on the Illinois River, though it was a little too early for the sweet light here in the later afternoon. A half dozen units up front are a little too many for a good train photo.
