In 2017,The American Association of Private Rail Car Owners held their annual convention in Burlington, VT. Before the convention, the American Association of Private Rail Car Owners ran some special and rare excursions in New York. I chased some of these special excursions.

Extra AMTK 111 The Green Mountain Flyer
Description:
On Thursday September 14, 2017 the American Association of Private Rail Car Owners ran the "Green Mountain Special " from Albany, NY to Thendara, NY. The special ran from Albany, NY to Utica, NY on CSX Transportation and then from there to Remsen, NY on the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern and finally to Thendara, NY on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad. I had work till 3PM, so I did not see it heading north and I barley had time to chase it heading south. When I got to Utica, NY I waited for about 15 minutes or so for the special arriving back in Utica, NY. While running on the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern and Adirondack Scenic Railroad, the train was symbol Extra AMTK 822 for its northbound run and Extra AMTK 111 heading southbound. At about 4:30PM, the train arrived at Utica, NY and is seen crossing Washington Ave. This location is at Milepost U0.25 of the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern Lyons Falls Track.
