Title:
PRR 9540, EF-15, 1961
Description:
4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during January of 1961. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9540, #9502-B, and #9544-B. All were built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9540 is an EF-15 built in 1948. #9502-B is an EF-15 built in 1947. #9544-B is an EH-15 built in 1948. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train through Altoona and are about to pass under the 4th Street Bridge into the Eastbound Receiving Yard. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.)
