Title:
CB&Q 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 5073
Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 5073 at Keenesburg, Colorado on November 9, 1945, photograph by J. Schick, print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 5073 was built by Baldwin in June 1917 (c/n 45761) and sold for scrap in April 1954. This locomotive was a lignite coal burner, the evidence being the extended smokebox and the yellow square painted on the side of the tender near the top rear of the coal bunker.
