Amtrak E9 408
Description:
Amtrak E9 408 at Washington, DC on an unknown day in May 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 408 was built in February 1956 as Milwaukee Road E9 201C (c/n 21604) on EMD Order 2075, was renumbered by the MILW to 31C shortly after delivery. By 1971 it was sold to Amtrak, becoming AMTK 408. Apparanty it was treated to red lift rings, and the gentleman appears to be pondering that situation.
